Very expensive for a feature poor systemNov 11, 2012

"Keep it HUGE"
I have a logitech alert system for my house and considered the clock that goes with that system, but where I need the camera, it would really appear out of place. I liked this non-descript box, and the product certainly delivers for being inconspicuous. But, the video quality is poor. The instructions are bare bones. There is no wi-fi support. And from what I can tell, this is not supported by MAC (unless you convert the file with your PC). In the end, this might not be a big deal, however, since you can review the footage directly from the box via the included (and very short) video cable, at 1,4,and 8x speed. The instruction manual that came with it says it is compatible with up to a 32GB micro SD card. After that, it automatically erases the old footage. I found with a 15 second record time when the IR sensor goes off, it easily lasted to cover 8hrs of babysitter footage with the included 4GB SD card. The picture quality is somewhere between the quickie-mart 10 o'clock news robbery highlight, and the blurry "I saw bigfoot" type. I also find it annoying that I have turn this thing on and off everyday. There is no automatic setting for "off" for certain times of the day. It only gives you the hourly options of 'continuous' or 'sensor.' I would imagine this would be a dealbreaker if you planned on setting this somewhere that wasn't easily accessible. Finally, though I didn't need it, the package did not include the wall mount as pictured.
If this was $250 bucks or less, I would have rated it higher given the form factor. But the lack of features, non-intuitive interface, and bare bones manual, leave it in the "meh" category.
Black BoxNov 16, 2011
By sangus The black box is easy to hide but is very limited quality in low light or if under a TV gets glare making video very poor. Controls are not as easy as would seem either, but downloading capures are very easy although many were corrupted for some reason. All in all very good concept and easy to place, but needs a lot of improvement on ease and options of controls/settings and quality of video in differant conditions.
